EduSciences convenient portable Cyrolizer Cold Chambers provide an inexpensive alternative to the traditional chill table. Feature removable 60 mm x 15 mm clear polystyrene specimen dishes ideal for handling live insects such as Drosophila and mosquitoes. Insects are immobilized for study by subjecting them to cold temperatures. Product includes two 9 cm diameter polypropylene Cryolizers, which are placed in a freezer for one to two hours until they reach a temperature of -18?C (0?F). The polystyrene specimen dish is placed on the chilled metal surface of the Cryolizer to protect insects as they remain chilled for examination. Each Cryolizer will require re-chilling after approximately one hour. Two Cryolizers are provided so that one may be chilled while the other is being used. Prior to first use, freeze Cryolizers overnight.
