INTRODUCTION TO CHROMOSOMES KIT
EduSciences Introduction to Chromosomes Kit is designed for advanced biology students who are interested in the microscopic examination of chromosomes from peripheral blood leukocytes. The kit uses freshly drawn blood cells and a micro technique which can be adapted for chromosome studies from cells of bone marrow or other tissues. Reply card items include: chromosome media, arresting fluid, rinsing solution, and Hank?s Balanced Salt Solution. Required, but not included: centrifuge (800 rpm), oil immersion microscope, water bath or incubator (37?C), alcohol or Bunsen burner, staining jars, xylene, glacial acetic acid, and methanol. Designed for 24 students working in six groups of four.
