ANALYSIS OF HAIR

The Hair Analysis Kit provides students with the opportunity to use scientific
methods and basic laboratory skills to study the morphology of hair samples
from various species. Includes a discussion of hair used as evidence in forensic
science, directions for mounting hair samples and visualizing scale patterns,
and illustrated descriptions of hair structures. Students conduct two forensic
examinations using the standard procedures used by forensic examiners.
Includes instructional manuals and student worksheets. Required, but not
included: microscopes, hair brushes, forceps, and plastic sandwich bags.
Designed for 24 students working in six groups of four. Meets national standards
for grade levels 9-12.
