Footprints, shoe prints, tire tracks, and other impressions embedded in soft material, if properly identified, preserved, and evaluated, may provide the
crime scene investigator with valuable class evidence. Students become the CSI detectives and learn to properly collect, record, and avoid destroying
crime scene evidence as they photograph and cast six types of impressions using various methods in this investigation. Includes writing impressions,
plastic prints, rope and binding impressions, key impressions, tire impressions and shoe impressions using carbon powder, plaster, clay, and ink. Materials
provided for 24 students working in groups of two or four, depending upon the activity. Required, but not included: an old tire, an old gym shoe, mixing
containers, a spray bottle, and newspaper. Meets national standards for grades 8-12.
